About the Yassini Broadband Knowledge Center
The Yassini Broadband Knowledge Center’s ultimate goal is to answer humanity’s most pressing needs through the technologies that truly connect mankind globally. Through careful analysis of the work of universities, the consumer electronics industry, and entrepreneurs around the globe, the Center’s experts match emerging initiatives and technologies to opportunities in the broadband world.
The Center’s key mission is collaboration and cooperation among universities, global professionals and associated YAS experts for creation of a Ph.D.-quality research program which awards four $50,000 grants annually. The research projects are specifically tailored to use the best aspects of broadband technology to meet the Center’s goals of improving the quality of life for mankind, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and contributing to a greener environment.

- Core Network - Network scaling, impact of bandwidth increases - Network security, user authentication
- Back Office - Services follow users - Flexible billing options
- Home - Targeted advertising - New & upgraded technology & applications - User interface - New appliances
- Broadband Applications - Telepresence - Telemedicine - Fully immersive 3D virtual worlds
- Proposals on alternate topics accepted
- Access network topology changes - Improving capacity & reliability of Broadband mobile/wireless access
